Deer in our backyard

Today these graceful and quiet deer assembled on our property and it was a delight to see them feeding on the fresh grass that has sprouted up just since all the rain we have been having. So far this month my hubby and I have recorded about 15 inches. So needed after the drought. I just love all the nature that is around us. Last week I saw the Red Fox and a couple of Racoons too. Enjoy the picture.

More Blooming Flowers

Lily of the Nile Frangi Pangi and Coral Honeysuckle

Downline Meeting

We had a great time tonight as my downlines met tonight. Three were able to come with one of my potential recruits and we spent the night making some cute 3x3 cards and box for them using the scallop envelope die from sizzix that works in the big shot from Stampin' UP! I also made gifts for them. I made black and red crocheted necklaces that are adjustable with a bead that slides up and down on the back of the neck. The necklaces represent the colors of the lady bug which is our mascot for our Lucky Ladies team. I gave each of them a lady bug button that they can sew onto the necklace. I made 6 in all and the boxes to hold them along with a cute lady bug bookmark with the jumbo paper clips and punched paper from our SU punches.

Visit from our Granddaughter

We had an enjoyable visit with our granddaughter this weekend. She and her mom came up from Tampa because they needed a place to bury a family pet. Rufus was a year old kitten that adored her family so much she liked to ride in the car. Sadly Rufus was killed by two neighborhood dogs and our daughter needed a place to lay her favorite pet to rest. Since we are bound to be staying longer at our home than she will at her's we agreed to let her bury him here. They spent the afternoon painting and making decorations for the gravesite. We were delighted to see her and her daughter and son and we were blest to have Mikaila spend the night. Of course the visit wouldn't be complete without a dip in the pool and some special time with grandpa who she calls Pee Paw. Mikaila is 5 and goes to kindergarten this coming year.

Doing well since Surgery

Hi all, Just wanted you all to know that I am doing fine since surgery. I had surgery on my right knee last Friday and as of today I can put a bit of weight on it but still walking with a crutch. The Doctor said I had some fraying on the cartilidge and lots of arthritis that he had scraped away in hopes of a better working knee. I should be out and about soon but not able to swim until I am fully healed. Luckily we have gotten rain almost everyday so God is taking care of watering my garden plants for me while I can't. I love listening to it rain as I sit in the lanai.

More Flowers

I love orchids so I have some blooming inside and outside.

Some More Flowers in my Garden

Here are some more of the beautiful flowers in my Garden. Enjoy!

A View From My Garden

Thought you might enjoy a trip to my garden to see all the wonderful flowers springing up. I just love the color I see when I look out my window each morning. Also remember the pet I had. The caterpiller I brought home has turned into a beautiful butterfly.

Happy Mother's Day

Today is a fabulous day to tell your mom you love her and thank her for all she does. I was with my mom yesterday and went to the Cheesecake Factory with my sister to have lunch with mom. We are so thankful to have her and not only is she a great mom but the bestest friend anyone could have. She gives advice and suggestions whenever we need it and unconditional LOVE always. Although she lives several hours away I always know I can pick up the phone and reach her whenever I need to just hear her voice.

My boys and hubby surprized me with a trip to Universal studios today and a lunch at one of my favorite places. Margaritaville was fabulous and we had alot of fun at the park. I also received two dozen assorted roses and chocolates from my hubby. They are beautiful and he arranged them himself.

Flower Pot Card

Today I attempted that cute flower pot card I have been seeing on line. I learned the card from fellow blogger Dawn at Dawn's stamping thoughts but changed the dimensions somewhat to better accomadate the inner card. Come to my next get together at my home and learn how to do this one. I love how it turned out.

Family visiting today

We had a nice visit from some family from South Carolina today. Billy's sister and her daughters Jessica and Jenny visited and my Daughter Melinda and her son CJ and daughter Emilie also joined in the visit. Here are some pictures of them. We had a great visit and they are off to Disney and Busch Gardens for the next few weeks.

A Few more Butterfly pictures for you

Butterfly World in Homasassa

Buckeye butterfly
this is me on the bridge in the habitat. The beautiful pond complete with a babbling waterfall has beautiful Koi and great pink and purple waterlillies and Iris.

A Pair of Zebra Longwings

A Milkweed plant is host to many caterpillers that will turn into beautiful Monarch butterflies.

One of the many displays of butterflies of the world. Very interesting so many colors and sizes. I especially like the irridescent type ones.

I had been scheduled for knee Surgery today at 6 AM but the doctors office called yesterday and said it was canceled and would have to be re-scheduled at a later date. So not to waste the day since my hubby took off to be with me we decided to make a trip to the Butterfly World garden in Homosassa. They only opened less than 6 months ago but the place is really something. We learned alot about butterflies and the plants that each different butterfly uses as a plant to host and feed the eggs and caterpillers before they become a Chrystilis and finally a butterfly. We learned that not only should our yard have the nectar plants to feed the butterfly but also the host plants to keep the butterflies in our yard. I took a ton of pictures and hope you will enjoy a few of them.
