This week we traveled to San Antonio Texas to Lackland  Air Force Base to see our son Eric Graduate from Basic Training.  It was a moment that would make any parent proud.  Our son played in the band from the time he arrived and for each of the graduations and his own.   Since he played in the high school band this was definitely his comfort zone and I felt pretty confident he was enjoying his basic training experience, he confirmed this when we saw him standing confident and proud. Not only did he enjoy it he has opened up as a person and I caught him occasionally smiling and conversing way more than ever before.  His area in his dorm was so neat and his bed nice and tight. Pretty good for someone who had never made a bed before.

This dinner was given to Eric as a congratulations the Restaurant gave a $20 gift certificate to each graduated airman We sat and enjoyed our meal and got ready to pay and the waitress told us that someone secretly paid for our meal. Wow did that feel good but we wanted to Thank them and she told us they had already left.  So wanting to pay it forward ourselves we tipped the waitress extra well.

Thank you so much to all my customers and fellow demonstrators and friends that made this day possible and a big thank you to First Lutheran Church In Inverness for letting us use their Facilities!
It was a fabulous day and everyone showed up bringing their creative ideas and craftiness.  I am always so impressed with all of the ways a card can be put together.  Most of the Cards were pre designed and pre-stamped but some of our attendees put their own spin on each card. I loved watching the amazement on some of their faces as they put each card together with tender love and care and I know the patients and their families that will use these cards will enjoy giving them as much as the recipients that are lucky to receive one of these special cards.

We started our event at 10 am and we had several participants show up early and were ready to get started right away.  We had maybe close to 20 or more in attendance and most of them each completed all the card designs we had to offer.   Some of them had limited time so could only stay with us a short time and picked their favorite designs to do.  This was our 3rd annual event and will do it again next year.  It is a way of me giving back to the organization that helped me many years ago when I needed help when my son needed heart surgery and we used the Ronald McDonald House in Gainesville FL. He is now a healthy Senior almost ready to graduate from High school and plays in the Citrus High School Hurricanes Band and Jazz Band.

Our event ended at 2pm with most of our card kits completed and the ones that did not get completed will be completed by my student helpers from the Lecanto High School Interact Program that will visit the RMH on  Veterans Day for a Field Trip if we can get enough parents to help drive them.
The Students help me monthly put together Card Kits and Sleeve the cards that get donated to me and ready my donation boxes for the RMH in St Pete so I thought they needed to visit the center.  Foolarr helping me they earn community service hours toward their bright scholars scholarships.

My Prize Patrol Win From Convention 

 My first Thin lit flip it card with the new Sizzix Stampin UP Thin Lits die that I won at prize patrol at the Stampin ' UP! 2013 convention. They are available for sale starting Thursday August 1st 2013.
HO x3 = ho ho ho  I used our new snowflake framelit dies also I punched the holes in it with a hole punch and used the holes to make snow with the stampin up silver glitter paper.  The letters H and O are made with the Serif essential dies the santa comes from our new Ronald Mc Donald Set Called Tag it And it is Featured in our main Catalog for 2013-2014 $3 from each set we sell is donated directly to the Ronald McDonald Charity by Stampin' UP!  I am the Lead For Our St Pete RMHC and organize a yearly fund raiser for that house in OCT. so be watching for that announcement and come and participate in our fun event!
